All of the information I have given is true and complete. This dog will reside in my home as a family member. Adoption Policy

Thank you for completing the adoptions application. The information you provide helps us determine whether or not you and the dog will be a good match. Once your application is approved, we will follow up with a phone interview, a tour or virtual tour of your home, and contact with references that you provide. We will also do our best to answer all of your questions and share additional photos and videos.

We do not place dogs in homes on a first come, first served basis, and we reserve the right to reject an application if we deem the applicant is not a good fit for the dog. Please note, submission of an application does not guarantee approval of adoption. Approved adopters are required to sign an Adoption Agreement.

Our Turkish based dogs stay with our rescue partners in Turkey until we secure a forever home in the U.S. and the approved adopter agrees to take physical ownership of the dog at The Ark at JFK. This is truly an exciting and rewarding experience! Street Dog Pals (SDP) will handle all travel arrangements from Istanbul to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York via Turkish Airlines. Upon landing, dogs are transported to The Ark at JFK Airport, an animal health and reception center located in Cargo Area D (78A N. Boundary Road, JFK Int. Airport, Jamaica, NY).

The adoption fee for Turkish based dogs includes mandatory vaccines, bloodwork, passport, health certificate, sterilization, microchip, crate, flight costs, The Ark and CDC fees. The adoption fee is payable within 72-hrs of possession via Apple Pay or credit card. We do not ask for any money prior to you picking up your beloved Turkish dog.

US based dogs, the adoption fee covers vaccines, spay/neuter and microchip.

Adoption fees are tax deductible.

Street Dog Pals is a small network of compassionate people whose mission is to decrease the number of neglected and abandoned dogs that reside on the streets of Istanbul, Turkey. We are committed to taking extraordinary dogs off the streets, providing them with shelter and medical care, and bringing them to the U.S. where we will responsibly place them with loving, caring forever homes. We are also devoted to providing each dog and their adopter a worthwhile, heartfelt experience. (We partner with MOR PATI DERNEGI (Purple Paw Rescue Group) in Turkey. These volunteers rescue dogs from the street and forests of Turkey, provide them with food, medical care and prepare them for adoption in the United States. Dogs not eligible for adoption remain in their care for the dog’s lifetime.) We are a registered 501c3 organization.
